Herbst® Class Corrector

We offer fully customizable Herbst® designs.

Smooth Transition

Because of its traditional eyelet loops, MiniScope® Herbst® can be integrated into any pre-existing system of crowns and attachments, allowing for easy and cost-effective transition.

Reduced Breakage

The three-piece telescoping mechanism will not disengage like a traditional Herbst® appliance, greatly reducing the number of emergency appointments.

Unrestricted Movement

Using the AppleCore® screw with the MiniScope® allows for up to 40° of lateral excursion and unparalleled patient acceptance and comfort.

The curved radius of the AppleCore® screw allows unrestricted lateral movement and reduces appliance breakage.

Breakage Reduction

The three-piece telescoping mechanism will not disengage like a traditional Herbst® appliance, reducing breakage and the number of emergency repair appointments.

Patient Comfort

Full range of motion in the sagittal and frontal plane, leading to greater patient comfort and reduced breakage.

Elimination of Ulcerations

The telescoping design has no piston to extend distally, eliminating ulcerations of the mucosa leading to greater patient comfort and acceptance.

Ease of Placement

Because the telescoping design is placed mesially on the upper molar instead of distally, it provides easier access for placement and adjustments.  It also moves the appliance away from the coronoid process to improve patient comfort.

Elimination of Bumps

The telescoping mechanism improves patient comfort because the lower attachment can be placed up to one tooth position more distal than traditional Herbst®.  This improves patient comfort by eliminating lip ulcerations and soft tissue bumps associated with piston-rod Herbst® appliances.

Ease of Advancement

Advancements are done in seconds by crimping a split shim onto the telescoping mechanism.  This saves time over a traditional Herbst® appliance which requires the clinician to disengage the lower screw and piston in order to utilize a slide-on shim.

Full range of motion in the sagittal and frontal plane, leading to greater patient comfort and reduced breakage.
